#reverb10 - Day 4 - Wonder

“December 4 – Wonder. How did you cultivate a sense of wonder in your life this year?” (Author: Jeffrey Davis)

Initially I was disheartened by this prompt. I thought, “I have not cultivated any wonder into my life.” For whatever reason I was under the impression that wonder must be BIG, bold, amazing and MAGICAL. Then I read Caren’s entry on her blog, The Perceptive Woman, and realized that wonder can be cultivated in small moments of complete presence to life, the Universe and one’s self. My moments of wonder have been experienced in a myriad of ways:

  • Basking in moon beams
  • Realizing I play a tiny, yet significant role within this vast Universe
  • Hearing my daughter laugh
  • The feel of the warm water washing over my body
  • Enjoying that first sip of coffee in the morning
  • Being awake to see the morning sun rise
  • Seeing an elephant in the cloud formations beneath a bright, blue sky
  • Crying at the end of a movie that has touched me deeply
  • Quiet moments reading
  • Seeing the first blossoms on an apricot tree
  • Inhaling the chilly, winter air
  • Listening to the rainfall
  • Noticing the whispers of dreamy intentions
  • Twinkling holiday lights
  • Relaxing in candlelight
  • Moving my body in celebration of what it does for me every day
  • Sharing my stories
  • Delighting in all the love given to me
  • Realizing that this list is infinite, limitless and never-ending….sort of like my to-list
