Saturday Seven - Collections

No, not the kind that call and harass you when you haven't paid your bills or met your financial responsibilities, but the kind you keep for yourself. I collect a variety of things. The first being; Pens. I love pens. I have more pens than I know what to do with. These are just a few of the pens in my collection.

I also collect Paper. It appears in all sorts of shapes and sizes; notepads, journals, spiral, hard bound, lined, unlined, colored, post-it, etc. My daughter has this fetish too, I think. When she was younger she'd steal my post-it note pads.

Growing up my name was Myra. The father of one of my friends nicknamed me Myrtle the Turtle. I hated it. I'd be in high school when they would return for a visit from Florida. It was the most magnificent surprise to walk into my home after school and hear "Hey there Myrtle the Turtle!" I said, "Don't you think I'm a little old to be called Myrtle the Turtle?" My friends father replied, "You'll always be Myrtle the Turtle to me." Needless to say, I collect Turtles. I even had one I named Murphie. My husband gave me this Lucky Bamboo plant in a Turtle bowl for Valentine's Day.

Over the past several years I have developed a fondness for dragonflies. I love Dragonflies and what they represent: change and transformation.

"Dragonflies carry messages that deal with deeper thought - and they ask that we pay attention to our deeper thoughts and desires." ~What'

During the holiday season my home is filled with Nutcrackers and Snow Globes. I love both and other than our Christmas Tree, lights and garland that's about all you'll find around this house. I purchase at least one of each every year....drives m' hubs bonkers. :)

Last but not least on this Saturday Seven list is: Quotes. I used to write them down in a notebook, but eventually invested in journaling software for writers and began entering my collection there. It makes it easy to find a quote by author name, keyword or topic.
And there you have it. My list of collections.
